She came to the United States in 1996 and received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Pacific (UOP), Arthur A. Dugoni School of Denstistry in San Francisco.
Dr. Melanie knew from early childhood that she wanted to be a dentist due to her own personal challenges with oral health. She was fortunate to receive high quality dental care which helped change her life. She was truly inspired by her dentist and the impact his work had made to her life and that of other patients. It made her realize how instrumental a beautiful healthy smile can be in one’s career, relationships and view of oneself.
Dr. Melanie is very passionate about preventative dental care. Patients come for her kind and gentle nature, her artistic dental skills and the personalized care she provides. She takes pride in her craft and the long-lasting relationships she has built with her patients along the way. She dedicates countless hours to professional continuing education so that she can provide the highest quality of care.
“My philosophy is to provide patients with the highest quality, comprehensive care in a comfortable environment. I believe strongly in a whole body approach to dentistry integrating my learnings in the best clinical practices with that of mind and body connection, to help my patients with overall wellness”. Her motto “Treating the whole person, not just teeth” resonates with that approach.
When Dr. Melanie is not practicing dentistry, she is actively involved in the local community. She routinely provides oral hygiene awareness and dental education in Scotts Valley elementary schools. She enjoys spending quality time with her husband, Manish, her 16 yr old son, Amun and their dog, Crystal. She is an ardent practitioner of Body and Brain Yoga and an active member of Earth Citizens Organization.
